Hello everyone,

First and foremost, we're very happy to be able to reconnect with the BlackHat community and want to say thanks to the owners/staff here who took the time to hear me out and understand today's CPAlead vs the old CPAlead.

One of the biggest things that has changed about CPAlead is the ownership.

I am now the primary owner of CPAlead myself. It is a completely different company (night & day) than the CPAlead of past and I understand that there is a lot of history, which I’ll address.

If you’re interested in knowing how the ownership transitioned and why, I’m happy to share as I want to be as forthcoming as possible here. Please scroll to the bottom and see “ownership change”. Here’s the short version - A former owner (Robert) came to the realization that he simply doesn’t like working in this business, never did and not liking this space impacted his ability to function in it. He was very honest with himself and with the rest of the company about it then sold his portion and moved on. Not a lot of people do that, even when they should, so I respect that a great deal. This ultimately lead to an opportunity that I took make my acquisition. The details are at the bottom.

The CPAlead issues of past:

There is a lot more to say and while I was not part of the past, I want to address some of it as best as I personally can. Before doing that, I want to tell everyone who’s considering (the new) CPAlead this. No other network can deliver the same rates that we can and do. I think every network likes to say ‘we are the best and we pay the most’ because you’re allowed to say whatever you want. However, the hard reality is that we use all the same advertisers and only CPAlead has long standing exclusive contracts. I don’t believe in greed, I have a long career history and a very successful history that was built off of putting clients & partners first. Affiliates are the life of any network and that’s how we treat them at today’s CPAlead, more on this later.

Now, I completely understand that there are a lot of hard feelings from certain people towards the old team that we had in place years ago. The business was run very differently and the experience for many was far from what it should have been. I was not part of CPAlead at that point, I wasn’t employed by the company and I had absolutely no stake in the business at all so it may seem as though I’m speaking out of turn. However, it is my company today and I have a very good understanding of how things transpired. I’ve looked at forum threads, I have examined company e-mails and more. Hindsight is 20/20 and I’m not here to criticize my predecessors but I recognize the errors and can say that it is not at all how CPAlead functions today.

To those of you who have had a great experience throughout, I’m very happy and promise to continue improving for you. With that said, there are those who are owed an apology and if you had a negative experience in anyway, I want to say that I am truly and sincerely sorry for the experience that you had. Its not the same as getting it when you should have (long ago) or by different individuals but I give my apologies none the less and realize that whether or not I was any part of the company – some may feel upset with me. That’s fair and I’m here to do my best to make it up to those all who may feel that way. I think about it constantly and its why I went through the long process of getting back on BHW. This didn’t happen overnight and the ownership team / staff here are extremely diligent and made 100% certain that the ownership had changed and that I understood the environment on BHW. CPAlead is here to be a strong piece of the community and do right by Affiliates. Now, I know that doesn’t make things right and I don’t expect it to but it needs to be said anyhow. As said earlier, I come from a strong corporate background, before CPAlead I was in a higher management position with a Fortune 50 company and I didn’t arrive there or succeed by luck, I did so by treating my clients right. CPAlead’s clients are Affiliates, so when I say that Affiliates mean everything to our business, it’s not the typical cliché remark many make after reading it in a book, it’s the cornerstone belief to what has gotten me to where I am in my life. With every business, big or small, start up or Fortune 50, nothing has ever been more important than clients (Affiliates in CPAlead’s case) I don’t think that Affiliates were taken care of at the level today’s CPAlead demands which kills me to think of since I now own this brand and feel like it is night & day from what it was. If you try us out, my belief is that talk is cheap so I can promise that we’ll deliver results to earn your business. If we can’t then we don’t deserve it, plain and simple.

With that said, I think there are probably a lot of questions, so I’ll get to them so that I can clear the air and be as open as I possibly can be. I want you to know about the REAL (today’s) CPAlead and I want to prove to you how much more money we can earn for Affiliates than anyone else.

Now, I thought that it would be best to answer some questions to clear the air before moving forward and I'll do so through a Q&A Format.

Q: Why buy into CPAlead and spend all of that money? Why not just start your own CPA company? What is so great about CPAlead?

A: Very good question and I have no problem explaining why. CPAlead has a lot of great things going for it, the staff, the brand name (needs some fixing on this forum) and the largest publisher base by a longshot, but that was only part of what made me want to invest since all of those things “can” be built. What cannot be overcome by any other CPA network, even my own had I started one, is that CPAlead is the only Content Locking business which holds exclusive contracts with the majority of advertisers in this space. Being the first company in the business back in 2006, CPAlead couldn’t patent the technology and knew there would be competition one day. So, we wanted to protect ourselves from future competition (which we knew was coming without a patent). So, CPAlead went to advertisers and demanded that they provide exclusive rates to CPAlead above all others going forward and put into our contracts. Advertisers had 0 reason not to agree since there was no competition and they risked losing a LOT of volume, millions, if CPAlead walked away (to one of their competitors none the less), so they happily locked in.

Now, as you all know, all of the Content Locking businesses in this space use the same exact advertisers. Nobody likes to talk about that openly since discussing that fact would only benefit CPAlead. Instead you constantly get a big song and dance about how your earnings will be amazing and how a network is the best, but no one is ever willing to explain it or qualify that statement. So looking at this space and considering whether I wanted to invest, I concluded that everyone is using the same technology (the technology CPAlead pioneered) with almost all the exact same ads, only CPAlead gives a higher profit split on ads and get higher rates anyhow. Someone else would have to pay out of pocket to beat our rates.

As a result, CPAlead was worth a life changing investment.

*Supporting Fact: CPAlead recently sent out an e-mail comparing our ads with other leading networks. We generated 30-40% more per ad on average. All the networks were using the exact same ads, exact same advertisers, same landing pages, same conversion rates (all else relative). CPAlead simply paid a LOT more.

Q: So you took over, has everyone or everything changed at CPAlead?
A: No, I’ve kept the very best of CPAlead’s staff and added a few really great individuals. We had some long standing tech members who I believe are cornerstones and they are still on board. We did completely revamp our advertising division and strategized by adding individuals in various countries such as India so that we had a presence on the Eastern side of the world where many of our big partners reside. We’re now much better staffed and positioned in each and every department. In fact, we’re part of associations and attend some of the largest shows in the world that have not received a single visit from other content locking networks. We visit North America, Europe, China, Israel, India, Japan and every other place we can find to do business in.

Q: What about security? I didn’t like the way I was treated by security in the past.

A: I saw some of the correspondence and I understand. As a result, we made a complete 100% change on the head of security.

Q: Let’s talk about Facebook and C&D’s, do you share user information and give C&D’s then shut publishers down who run Facebook traffic?

A: No, we absolutely do not. It can be Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Wal*Mart, the government or anyone else. CPAlead does not give away information on our Affiliates unless we are absolutely forced to do so by law and we will always fight to protect your rights and our own. I come from a Frotune 50 corporate background and one thing that every great company does is protect their clients. Affiliates are CPAlead's clients, going after an Affiliate is like going after my personal livelihood and the life of CPAlead. It isn't something taken lightly.

Q: So can I run Facebook traffic on CPAlead?

A: Yes, the simple answer is this; Facebook is a great platform and you can run any sort of traffic that isn’t prohibited by our TOS (or the law), Facebook traffic included. Facebook themselves takes no issue with the use of their platform or those who use it for business reasons, that’s never once been a complaint or issue while I’ve been head of this company. However, its business as usual so mind the law, platform terms, ethics etc.

Q: Ok, its extremely rare but what if CPAlead does get a C&D though?

A: Well first off, while I’ve held ownership of CPAlead, it has been extremely rare to get a C&D (and we have a publisher base closing in on 300k), that holds up, from anyone but we’re exactly like any other business in terms of our options. The difference is how we respond, let me detail that. Regardless of who sends CPAlead a legal demand by way of Cease & Desist, we will do the following

First, we always review it and look at the claims being made. If the claims are not relevant or such that we need to take action, we’ll inform the party issuing the C&D of that and they are essentially out of luck and that CPAlead doesn’t feel there is an appropriate reason to take any action.

If the claims are strong and there is some support showing that something very offside has taken place, we will look into it. For example, if a specific individual has been caught red handed violating State or Federal law, we will freeze any payment on the account and demand supporting evidence so that we can get 100% clarity and conclusive evidence before taking further action. The account isn’t dead and other than a payment delay, no difference would be noticed.

The party issuing the complaint will be required to provide CPAlead with their findings in a reasonable amount of time. At that point, I myself, my security team and legal team will review the evidence. If it is 100% clear that someone has been caught red handed violating Fed or State law, then we have zero choice but to comply. Same as any other business out there. However, if it is not conclusive or we are not supplied with the appropriate evidence, we will notify the party issuing the complaint and their demand will be denied. If that is not sufficient, they can take whatever action they feel that they need to and I can guarantee you that CPAlead will respond in kind. CPAlead is a business, our Affiliates are the life of our business, complaints against our company’s life are taken very seriously and our legal team includes multiple online specialists across various states and countries.

Q: You said its rare, I heard a rumor that you get them all the time?

A: Not at all! Not in today’s CPAlead, although I'm sure it might benefit someone to float rumors as it often does. I can’t speak for how the company was run or what was going on a long time ago but I do know that at one point, years ago, this issue was a big one for us and handled very differently (keep in mind we were a newer company and anything legal was a big issue). I believe that internal operations of past were the cause of many issues, information was treated differently, traffic was handled differently, Affiliates had a different focus, our policies were different and confusion was abound. Compared to today, we were ‘all over the place’. That’s not the case today, its extremely rare and even less common for one to be validated. I personally believe we’re light years better at driving quality traffic, running company operations and that the market place has simply changed.

Q: What kind of promotional methods can we use?

A: Your exact methods are your own. This is akin to trade secret information in my opinion and I know how sensitive niches, methods and the like are to Affiliates so we don’t force an open or public discussion. Suffice to say that your methods are your own but if you go out and do something illegal that lands CPAlead in hot water, it doesn’t bode well for anyone (see above comments on violating state / federal laws etc).

Q: Can we use fake niches where the user doesn’t get anything?

A: No, its incredibly easy to setup a niche where the user gets something. Fake niches aren’t allowed anywhere and certainly not on CPAlead. I’ll be forward in saying they’re a waste of time so it shouldn’t be an issue.

Q: Gotcha, so you don’t share information. Then what if I do something that is offside and take steps to hide myself, as in not throwing my name all over my promo methods or what not? (This should be straight forward but I assumed someone would ask this since it always comes up)

A: While this does give us a laugh, I’ll reply since we get the question fairly often. CPAlead prohibits Affiliates from doing anything that is offside – that’s exactly why its called offside / prohibited. With that said, the logic is pretty straight forward right? You do something offside without getting caught and…well…you get away with it. There’s no other way I can really tackle that question and no matter how many ways its asked, the answer remains the same.

Q: What tends to get picked up more often than not in terms of violations? What mistake do people make that just wastes their time?

A: Adult content where not permitted and offer fraud. These trigger the radar in a heartbeat and we act fast. Auto completed offers, fake traffic or porn where it shouldn’t be – these things stand out like a sore thumb (I’ve never really been certain as to how a sore thumb stands out but we’ll go with that saying). Fraud in particular, we’re hardcore about that. Fake leads get reversed on us and strain ever so important relationships which can hurt everyone else. We catch violators and we’re not nice to them.

Q: So no Adult traffic ever?

A: Actually, Adult traffic is ALLOWED within CPAlead Adult - coming this week!!! (The week of Feb 10th). We'll provide instructions though. Your widget will need to be coded as Adult, its simply a matter of checking off a box. That or you'll need to pull from our adult offers. More very soon.

Q: Do you have File & Link lockers?

A: Best in the business, yes! Fully optimized and customizable with multiple landing pages available and full mobile support.

Q: How about payment methods?

A: You name it, we have it. Paypal, Payoneer, Wire, ACH, Western Union, Check and anything else you want. If you need it, we’ll get it.

Q: I heard you have a big lottery system with daily themes and big give aways? Is that true? (I hope you’ve heard anyhow)

A: Yes, every day is a different theme. We have days where earning $20 gets you an immediate $20 bonus, where earning $100 can get you an immediate extra $100, other days where you get multiple scratches at the lottery with up to a 15% bonus and we take the best scratch & more!

For those interested in the ownership change details:

What happened to elicit the change in ownership? A former major owner (Robert) who was also the longtime head of CPAlead and all of its day to day operations decided that he wanted to sell his interests in the company. You may want to know Why? The truth is that he expressed that he never felt the business was ever the right fit for him. As a result, he felt disconnected from it for a very long time and that disconnect increased over time, he eventually came to the conclusion that this business was not something that made him happy in life and he wanted to build a future elsewhere. Thus, he offered to sell his equity outright (all of it). I may manage the business in a completely different manner but I really respect when someone can take a look at something, be honest with themselves and walk away, it’s not easy to do (on a personal or professional level) and it often doesn’t happen. CPAlead is lucky and I’m thankful for that.

Once that transaction went through, it soon after opened the door for me to make my own purchase to take majority hold over CPAlead. I had been working within the company and making some very positive changes but until that point, I could never truly take over and build the company out the way I saw fit.

So, here we are today, CPAlead is a very different company and we have made all sorts of improvements. In this short time, we’ve won awards, increased Affiliate earnings, shored up multiple contractual, marketing, legal and other items that have all made CPAlead the absolute best environment for Affiliates to generate revenue in.

Final Word:

I’m very excited to show each and everyone here what CPAlead can do. You understand the business and what our advantage is now and that’s new. I want to be open and hard working. More importantly, I feel that talk is cheap. Let us PROVE what we can do for you. Ignore all of the metrics that are (adjusted by networks) flashed in front of you to get your attention and focus on earnings. Try us, work with us, communicate with us and if we can’t earn you more and deliver on our promise then we don’t DESERVE your business and we need to improve. Plain and simple.

The results we’re driving to those who are with us are head and shoulders above the rest. We want to do that for you as well.
